Good flavour, messy grind - Happy Camper

We are daily Kick Ass drinkers, for several years now, and although we have tried other coffees, both Kicking Horse and other coffee brands, we very quickly return to Kick Ass. It is by far our favourite. So I was pleasantly surprised that I really liked Happy Camper. It has sweet and smoky notes making it just different enough without straying too far from our favourite Kick Ass.
Unfortunately it is messy when I grind it….like fly away grounds and what I can only describe as “husks” everywhere. And I don’t think my burr grinder liked it either. We use the Breville Pro. Even though I would describe the beans as dry, compared to Kick Ass, the grounds gummed up the grinder. And it sounded like it was struggling and working pretty hard when grinding.
So although I like the flavour very much, I don’t want to spend $300 on a new grinder. We will have to stick to Kick Ass.

Did it change?

In our house we exclusively drank Happy Camper before it was discontinued months ago. Excited to see it come back, we stocked up on the new Happy Camper. Unfortunately it is not the same as the old one (we had saved some of the old kind and noticed the difference). It's unfortunate because I'd had false hope thag we could go back to our favorite, but it's definitely not the same.

Tasty, but i like the bold Grizzly Claw blend better.
